British Airways - Boeing 777 - can some one tell me what they ve done with that plane,after it crashed?
has the plane been fixed and repaired,and back in the skies again? or its not in use no more .. i have always been curious to find out!

if you're talking about the 777-236ER whose engines stopped responding to throttle inputs due to fuel contamination in flight on final approach to Heathrow, .... it was totaled.
one of the main gear struts pierced through the wings, puncturing wiring, fuel tank, flaps & wing surface etc..
The engines, which are incidentally the most expensive parts of the airplane were also gone. engines were in direct contact with the ground. Every stage of the compressors was a no-go. Every single fan was warped and bent out of shape. The engines needed total replacement also. The cost of that is phenomenal. Plus, the fuselage was no longer air worthy, and new wings were required also. As a result, it was towed by crane to a secluded parking spot at LHR and chopped up. They probably sold or kept what was still good and sold the scrap metal or threw it away at a dump. Everything not essential to the ongoing investigation anyway. It wasn't logical or economical to repair the plane. Buying a new one was cheaper.

PS: they have already nailed it down to around 3 possibilities of how ice go into the fuel tanks.
Condensation is a big one right now.
also, the issue of lots of fuel at the crash site was also solved. Pilots forgot to close all fuel valves.
to Lord Facile: they would still have to chop up the plane to move it to the labs. Only so much can be done on scene. BA is not going to pay for a bunch of scrap metal lying around (just the hanger space is expensive!). It will get rid of it ASAP if not already. You can bet the non-essential parts are gone already.
